Lower Saxony-wide German Subject Conference at LUH: On 5 February 2025, the Chairs of Didactics of German Language and Literature, in collaboration with the LSE’s Centre for Continuing Professional Development, the RLSB Hannover and the German Subject Association (Fachverband Niedersachsen / Bremen im Deutschen Germanistenverband), are organising the German Subject Conference with over 170 participants having announced their attendance. From 5 to 7 February 2024, the Chair of German Literature Didactis will host the Winter Academy of the Low German Teaching Network "LeNie" organised by the University of Greifswald, which spans the region between Ghent and the Island of Rügen. On 6 May 2024, Matthias Leichtfried (University of Vienna) will give a guest lecture entitled ‘Understanding hermeneutic AI? Hermeneutic challenges in teacher training for the subject of German.’ Please refer to the poster for further information.

On 11 December 2025, hosted by Söhnke Post and his Low German courses, different guests will discuss the entanglements in the fields of Sorbian and Low German Studies including Christiane Ehlers, Grit Lemke, Měto Nowak and Cornelius Herz accompanied by a screening of Lemke's "Bei uns heißt sie Hanka" (2023). Jennifer Witte (Osnabrück) and Alicia Gauter (Magdeburg) will give guest lectures in the research colloquium on the topics of "Interdisciplinary literature teaching" (Jennifer Witte, 01 December 2025) and "Constructions of identity – the Low German theatre in Gladigau" (Alicia Gauter, 19 January 2026).
